Toy Fair 08: The Dark Knight Returns

While certain upcoming summer blockbusters have been seemingly omnipresent at Toy Fair this year (Indiana Jones, anyone?), others have been surprisingly absent. The Dark Knight has been one such film that we've been seeing very little of all weekend, though Mattel finally ended that trend today when the toy company previewed its line of action figures, vehicles, play sets, and figures "inspired" by the film.

Despite Heath Ledger's Death, 'Dark Knight' Marketing Campaign Continues

While the world mourns the untimely death of Hollywood star Heath Ledger, questions are already surfacing regarding the publicity campaign for the latest installment of the highly popular Batman films. For much of the past year, 'The Dark Knight' has been the subject of an elaborate online advertising campaign built around Ledger's character, the evil Joker. Now it is a matter of debate whether Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, will alter its marketing strategy following the actor's passing.

Status of Chelseagrin.

As you can imagine, all of us here at CG were shocked, and saddened by last week's news. I don't think any of us could have anticipated this turn of events. We are a group of Heath fans, who bonded over the news of his role as our favorite villian. We were looking forward to Heath's interviews, press, and of course, the movie.

We still are. We intend to continue to actively update CG with art, blog entries and news, related to Heath and TDK. It is only fitting that we continue. Heath worked hard, and had his hand in so much creatively, that to stop would be to deny our own creativity - something that I don't think he would like us to do.

All of us here appreciate your support, e-mails and questions. We hope that we can continue to provide you a viable and interesting site, and most importantly celebrate Heath and his role in The Dark Knight.

Chris Nolan - His Tribute To Heath - Charisma as Natural as Gravity.

A truly beautiful and moving tribute from Chris Nolan about Heath. The article really speaks for itself, but we couldn't help but smile at the image of Heath skateboarding around, on his night off.

I'd fretted about the reaction of Batman fans to a skateboarding Joker, but the actual result was a proliferation of skateboards among the younger crew members. If you'd asked those kids why they had chosen to bring their boards to work, they would have answered honestly that they didn't know. That's real charisma—as invisible and natural as gravity. That's what Heath had.

Mark Hamill 'Can't Wait' To See Heath Ledger as Joker - More Accolades!

The MTV Movies blog has posted some great comments from Mr. J himself, Mark Hamill. Best known in the Batman universe for voicing Joker in the animated series (and by many accounts, having the best laugh), Hamill has nothing but praise for Nolan's interpretation of the iconic figure.

“The balls-out debauched psycho approach seems like a great way of reinventing everyone’s favorite scary (and scar-y) clown,” he enthused. “Can’t wait to see it!
