Dark Knight Cast Remembers Heath
As predicted (and as the girls at CG have known for a long, long, LONG time - Heath's getting wonderful accolades, not only from critics, but from his co-stars as well. Metromix provides a few excerpts from the recent press junket in L.A. where Maggie, Chris and Emma, Christian and Gary talk about Heath.
Gary Oldman remarks: “From the first morning I spent with him, I thought to myself ‘fuck all, this kid’s a bit good.’ You know that you’re in the presence of something really special [with Heath]. It’s like he’s tuned in and found a certain frequency, a radio station that we can’t hear."

The FHM Interview - Heath Ledger
Fair warning - this interview doesn't look like it was edited or spell-checked very well, so take it for what it's worth. However, it is a longish one, and full of Heath's good humor. So therefore, we treasure it. Heath also talks about his 'X-rated' performance:
I mean it’s, you know, it’s a PG-13 isn’t it? I think, so not really, you know, I think it suggests more gore, I remember going into this thinking it was PG-13 but I wanted to present an X rated performance, if I could. So it’s kind of what I’ve been going for and the power of suggestion. It is pretty dark, but there’s not a lot of gore.
We are also glad that Heath noticed something we did - Nolan is a super-tea drinker. We never saw him without his flask of tea. That Heath commented on this amused us, greatly.

Christian Bale Wants to Talk About Heath
Christian was interviewed for the most recent issue of Parade. While the full interview is not online, People Magazine gave us a sneak preview of some of the kind things he said about Heath, the children and friendship.
"I want to talk about Heath," Bale told this Sunday's issue of PARADE. "When you miss somebody, you want to speak about him. He was a good man, and I was glad to have spent time with him."
Christian also goes on to call Heath a "kindred spirit" and hopes that The Dark Knight will be a celebration of Heath's work.
We hope so too, CB.

BlackFilm interviews Michael Jai White!
Blackfilm sat down with Michael Jai White, who plays Gamble in The Dark Knight. Michael had nothing but complimentary things to say about Heath's performance.
Blackfilm: How was working with Heath Ledger?
MJW: He was incredible. He was a really nice guy. I discovered gradually in certain elements of how much of a nice guy he was. I noticed one day he was in his full Joker gear and he wasn’t going to be filmed that entire day. It was all on the other guys. Heath could have came in dressed in jeans and a t-shirt if he wanted to, but he dressed like that for the benefit of the other actors to play off of him. Here’s a guy who was very successful, and puts himself through hours of prosthetics and wearing uncomfortable clothes just to help out other actors; and no one would have blamed him if he just wore jeans and a t-shirt, but he wasn’t opposed to it as at all. I had to ask the director, ‘Is he going to be filmed at all today?’ Once half the day was gone, the director said no.

LatinoReview Interviews Nestor Carbonell - The Mayor of Gotham!
LatinoReview is often known for it's scoops, and this interview contains a few spoilers about our favorite demented clown.
LatinoReview: When the movie started filming it was based around the Joker, which is Heath Ledger's character. Did you have any scenes with him at all?
Carbonell: I am in a couple of scenes with Heath but I really didn't have much interaction with him in the film. There was one particular moment that comes to mind that I did take note. I announce to a group of police officers and there is a big cheer in the room. Heath Ledger is behind bars, and it's in the trailer actually, and it wasn't scripted. He improvised this where he started clapping along in a very mocking sardonic way. Immediately I knew 'Whoa, this guy's got this role right in his veins. He knows this guy really well.' That was one observation I had, but I didn't have much interaction with him. I wish I would have had more. From what I understand the work he does in this film is just outstanding and unbelievable. I haven't had a chance to see it but others have seen it. They said it was incredible.
LatinoReview: I know some folks who have seen the film and tell me that when you see Ledger playing the role he is The Joker.
Carbonell: Exactly, he has apparently fleshed out that character, in his own way obviously, but to the point where he left a major impression on so many people who have already seen it. In fact I just spoke with someone from Warner Brothers who told me that it's absolutely Oscar worthy. It's an unbelievable and breathtaking performance.

Heath's family to attend Dark Knight Premiere
This still may be a rumor, even though it's been picked up by mainstream press. As many know, the NYC premier of The Dark Knight will be held on July 14th. There are reports that Heath's family will, in fact, attend. We're still not 100% certain on this, but for what it's worth, we figured we better post about it.
