Remembering Heath, More TDK Reviews and a special thank you to Aaron Eckhart
SHH has a article of quotes and remembrances from Heath's co-stars - on the man, the actor and the Oscar talk. A hard read for Heath fans, but a testament to the mark he left on them and all of us.
Also, the reviews continue to pour in, as we expected they would for The Dark Knight. While we cannot catalogue each and everyone here, here are a few highlights:
Village Voice: Heath Ledger Peers Into the Abyss in The Dark Knight
Entertainment Weekly: The Dark Knight
Ledger's 'Dark' Joker Raises Pic To A Classic
Roger Ebert's 4 Star Review of 'The Dark Knight'
Lastly, we want to give thanks to one member of the cast, in particular. While at the premiere and after-party, we saw a lot of people, but none of them were as gracious as Aaron Eckhart was. So 'thanks' Aaron - for coming over to chat with us and remembering us from Chicago. We appreciated the few minutes you took with us, even though we were sure you were rushed. We're fans for life!

An interesting article, mostly for it's publication in a mainstream paper. It's a little light on Joker mythos, and talks mostly about the relationship between Batman and Joker. The author also discusses a fair amount of The Dark Knight so if you are trying to avoid spoilers - beware! There is a far amount of movie dialogue contained in the text.
Batman is a bore, isn't he, beneath all that sculpted latex? He's at his best as a concept, a shadow, drawn alone on his vantage points, in lots of dark ink, talking to himself in thought balloons. Put him on a movie screen, and then he has to speak aloud more than he gets to brood, and then . . . something . . . isn't . . . quite right.
But thank the Devil for Joker.
The villain is always more interesting, right? People write about the hero, but come Halloween or Comic-Con, they dress up as the bad guy.

The Joker's Voice, Born In Chicago
A great article with a peek into Heath's time in Chicago. And much like everyone who has worked with him, from cast to crew, people had nothing but kind things to say.
''He was a great listener, and unlike a lot of actors with big egos, he would listen to what you had to say and seemed really interested in our lives.'

Heath Ledger - Among the Masses
Normally, we keep the news to what's going on in the The Dark Knight world. However, we have to direct you all to this wonderful article written by Randall Roberts. As many of you may know, Heath was involved in a collective called "The Masses", based in LA. It was here where he not only fostered his own creativity, but helped others as well. There are some wonderful pictures that accompany the article, as well as warm remembrances from his friends.
As a collective of our own, Chelseagrin wanted to highlight this article to show another side to him that perhaps casual fans may not have known. Anyone who ever came in contact wit him released there was just different air around him. And his presence made a difference:
One night, right after Ledger died, Slagle had some of his best friends in her car. It was raining. “I was just like looking up at the sky and [thinking], ‘Give me wings, keep me safe with all these people,’” she says. “You know, those are the moments where it would get really clear that if there was one thing that we could do, it would be to stay attached, just like he would have wanted us to.”
Thanks to Randall for sharing his article with us.

Christopher Nolan's 'Knight' Vision
The LA Times provides us a classy look at Nolan as director, his thoughts on the process, and lastly, Heath. We couldn't agree more with Nolan's words.
"I think we've said as much as we can about Heath. We want to do right by him. I'm proud of his work in this film, and I'm excited to have it seen, but I think in respect to him and his family, perhaps it's best to just let the film have the final word."

Aftonbladet: New Swedish Preview - Extended Party Scene!
Spoiler Alert! This clip (link goes to YouTube, since folks seem to having a problem with the original site.) shows an extended version of some clips we've seen before. This clip really shows off what a lot of the reviewers are saying about Heath's performance. We never knew what he was going to do next -- and we loved it!

EW: The Dark Knight: Tragedy and Triumph
A fairly generic article from EW - with a few spoilers for those who are trying to avoid such things. Similar quotes that we've seen before, but as we all already know Nolan asserts Heath's 'balls' as a huge factor in his ability to pull off the Joker.
The guy had serious nuts,'' Nolan says. ''What I needed was someone who wouldn't be afraid of the comparison with Jack Nicholson. And then I saw Heath's incredible performance in Brokeback Mountain. Such a lack of vanity. This was an actor who wasn't afraid to bury himself in his character — to a massive extent."
On a more serious note, the article further dispels the rumors about The Joker being connected to Heath's death. But still, the article leaves us with a bit of bittersweet:
Some observers already predict that the movie could surpass Spider-Man to become the highest-grossing comic-book-based movie of all time. In an irony the Joker would appreciate, Heath Ledger's last film is about to be the biggest hit of his life.

Rolling Stone serves up a great review!
Peter Travers leads the charge to give Heath what we think he absolutely deserves - an Oscar. The review, like many, are focusing on his singular and iconic performance as The Joker. We knew he'd be amazing. Nice to see the world tuning into that fact.
In addition to the RS review, there have been a few more verifiable reviews out there - some many contain MAJOR spoilers, so be warned. With the influx of news, we'll do our best to keep up, but we won't be posting all reviews of the film. To read other reviews, please see:
